Being invited to do some soul searching in the vaults of the legendary
New York based jazz label Blue Note Records is a very respectful task but,
hey, let’s not be too moralistic here. All the world’s a stage and the
world owes these versatile juveniles a few nice things, capiche? So great
displays of Reid Miles typography were lined along Memory Lane as the
idiosyncratic twosome rolled by in their silver Mustang ’66. But, seriously
folks....let’s not ease on down the road for this one, catch my drift?

This music was and will always be the connection to a free spirited city
where rebels who find it hard as hell to stick to the mainstream may find
their creative blood brothers. Many of the killer grooves handpicked here
for Jazz In the City have with rare exception been neglected for decades.
Being instantly accessible these gems will showcase new facets of the
Blue Note magic with each new spin. Taste them, as crispy as ever and then
jump to the beat. There isn’t a single note, good or bad, that wasn’t felt.
